When to start
End of term and teacher appreciation week are the obvious moments, and both are busy, so start early. Give parents and students two weeks. If you are gathering from a class that has already moved on, allow three, because former students take longer to reach and are worth waiting for.
Who to ask
Current students and their parents, and then the ones who left. A message from someone they taught eight years ago, saying what they ended up doing because of that class, is the contribution a teacher does not get anywhere else. Alumni are the reason to widen this one.

- Can parents contribute as well as students?
- Yes. Parents tend to describe the change they watched at home, which is a side of the work teachers almost never hear about.
- Is it suitable for a whole class?
- Yes. The Unlimited plan removes the contributor cap, so an entire year group can add a message.
- Can people contribute by phone?
