When to start

Retirement dates are known months ahead, which is an advantage. Open collection three weeks out so people who are travelling or on leave still get their turn, and set the reveal for the send-off itself. A Ripple projected at a leaving lunch gives the room something to talk about.

Who to ask

Go wider than the immediate team. Someone they mentored two roles ago, the person in another department who always called them first, an early hire they trained who now runs something. Career-length reach is exactly what a retirement Ripple can show and a card cannot.

Is this appropriate for a workplace?: Yes. Contributors write their own words and you approve every one before it appears, so nothing reaches the reveal that you have not read first.
