The reveal
The reveal traces the graduate back through everyone who shaped the path, then hands the whole picture to them at once.
When to start
Start three weeks before the ceremony. Teachers and coaches are hardest to reach at the end of term, so send to them first. Set the reveal for the evening after the ceremony, when the photographs are done and the graduate is finally sitting down.
Who to ask
Go beyond family. The teacher who pushed them into a subject they now love, the coach who kept them turning up, the boss from a first job, the friend who studied alongside them at two in the morning. Each one saw a different version of the same person becoming who they are.
A few practical answers
- Can teachers and coaches contribute?
- Yes, and they often write the most quoted contributions. They do not need an account, only the link.
- Is this better than money?
- It is a different thing. A Ripple is what they still have in ten years, which is not usually true of a graduation cheque.
- Can people contribute by phone?
- Yes. The contribution form is built for small screens first.
- Will the recipient see it early?
- No. Their link shows a countdown until the reveal time.
